Awareness is the first step in the creation process. As you grow in self-awareness, you will better understand why you feel what you feel and why you behave as you behave. That understanding then gives you the opportunity and freedom to change those things you’d like to change about yourself and create the life you want. Without fully knowing who you are, self-acceptance and change become impossible.Having clarity about whom you are and what you want (and why you want it) empowers you to consciously and actively make those wants a reality. Otherwise, you’ll continue to get “caught up” in your own internal dramas and unknown beliefs, allowing unknown thought processes to determine your feelings and actions.
How long does it take to become self-aware?
That depends on how important and valuable that is to you. On the one hand, it takes no time because that is your natural state of being and on the other hand, you are so conditioned to think and believe you are your thoughts that you do not notice your self. Therefore, what takes time is learning to expand your attention beyond your personality to notice that you are infinitely more than your thoughts.
Clearly Defining Your Life Purpose
A life purpose isn’t just a goal, and it isn’t just a responsibility. Your life purpose is the fundamental reason you want to wake up in the morning — it’s why you live. Discovering or creating a specific life purpose isn’t easy and some simply never figure it out. Your life purpose is the staple of living life and being an exceptional leader.
Dedication to Conscious Relationships
Being in conscious relationship means you are open to the possibility of love and connection in every moment - with your staff, your beloved, yourself, and even the grocery store check out clerk. As you move through life your philosophy is one of a constant search for the possibilities of connection and unity, which inform your ideas. Your ideas begin to serve as connection between people and flow toward communion and community. You become a leader who loves and people are inspired to serve those who love most. The art of conscious relating is an incredible, life-long practice that takes us from the smallness of our mind to the greatness of it. The smallness of our mind can be seen in our self-absorption and self-centeredness; in always wanting to be right; in thinking that our needs must come first; in the way we want others to conform to our rules and beliefs or when we believe our partner experiences things the way we do; in the way we expect our partner or colleague to change, and be different, but do little ourselves to change and when we blame our the other or think that he or she is the cause of our unhappiness.
Establishing a Spiritual Connection
Beyond your personality how well do you know your spiritual self? Have you taken time to explore and define your spiritual perspective?
